by Adrian Leighton

This is a very special time of year for a great many people for different reasons. Here in Audlem we have already enjoyed some memorable moments. As we approach Christmas Day there will be a number of opportunities offered to you at St James Church to celebrate this festival in a way that embraces the Christmas Story.

We begin on Sunday 21st Dec at 6.30p.m. when we host the Village Carol Service. The annual event will bring together folk from the three village churches and beyond to share in carols and readings, old and new, that help us reflect on and celebrate the Christmas event of the birth of Jesus Christ.

On Tuesday 24th Dec, Christmas Eve at 4p.m. we hold our popular Crib Service. If you have not attended this all inclusive service before, then why not come along this year. For the children, it gives them something else to think about and experience, at a time when anticipation of other things might just be reaching boiling point!

On Christmas Eve at 11.15p.m. the First Communion of Christmas (sometimes called Midnight Mass) combines that atmospheric sense of the hour and a very personal experience of the Christmas event for us now in 2012.

On Christmas Day at 8.15a.m., for the early risers, is a quiet and reflective service of Holy Communion.

Whilst at 10a.m. we hold our Christmas Family Communion Service which is a joyful celebration together to take us to whatever other joys we have planned for the day.
